Access Programmes

OAITC offers a variety of occupational health, safety and environmental programmes. Courses have been developed on different levels, allowing learners to progress to higher levels. The learning programmes are aligned with unit standards registered on the National Qualifications Framework thus facilitating credits towards the qualification in Occupation Hygiene and Safety (Level 4). OAITC is registered with the Health & Welfare Sector Education Training Authority: Registration number: HW592PA0600263.

  • The NQF level 1-3 modules are short courses to enhance your skills in health and safety.
  • The NQF level 4 certificate programme is an abridged programme that can help you gain access to pursue your studies in Occupational Hygiene or Occupational Health, Safety and Environment with a university.
  • The NQF level 5 Environmental Management, Environmental Aspects and Impacts course and Occupational and Environmental Noise course will enhance your skills in environmental management or environmental auditing.

Time Frame for Course Completion: A distance learning candidate should be able to complete a single course within three months.

Assessment: Courses will be assessed in accordance with Specific Outcomes in the relevant Unit Standard by completing class assessments, practical work as well as home based assignments.
